The Ultimate Forge of Empires Army – The Battle Edition

In the quest to forge our empire, we must fight! Forge of Empires Battles are an intrinsic feature of the game, and our military strategy and army is imperative to our success. We are presented with a choice; to use our units to attack other players, or to conquer provinces on the Continent Map. Before we can enter battle, we first need to establish our units which are placed into slots in our Military Buildings. It is through Army Management that we can manage our units; specifically, our Attacking Army and Defending Army. Battle Strategies; Battle Preparation: Artillery units Artillery units are incredibly powerful when used in numbers but should only be deployed after we consider the enemy troops in which we face. For example, if the enemy is to set up with 1-3 heavy units, we can effectively use 3-4 artillery units (of the previous or same age) to defeat this enemy set up. As artillery units are effective at defeating heavy units, this sets us up nicely for victory as it becomes extremely easy for the rest of our other troops to win the battle. We also recommended that 2-3 Artillery units are deployed when facing an army that consists of 0-1 heavy units and 1-4 total artillery, ranged, or fast units. It is important to note that if most of the units are light units, Artillery units should not be used. Army Management It is through Army Management that we manage our units and assign them to…

Forge of Empires Temple of Relics

In this quick article, Forge of Empires Tips will discuss Forge of Empires Temple of Relics. The video version of this transcript can be found here Have you heard about Forge of Empires Temple of Relics – the new great building in the game? But first, what are Temple of Relics? Temple of Relics is a non-age great building with a passive boost called Relic Hunt. It gives you a chance to get common, uncommon and rare relics on the guild expedition map. Are there different types of Temple of Relics? The word in itself  says what all that needs to be said, how often a relic can be spawned. Common relics are spawned most often, they include common resources like coins and supplies, Rare relics are spawned rarely, they include precious event buildings. As this is a very new Great Building, you can only guess what kind of special event buildings can be found in rare relics. I would not mind a shrine of knowledge. 🙂 You can get Blueprints for Temple of Relics as a reward on the Guild Expedition Map and by contributing to other player`s Temple of Relics. Requirements You will need 6X6 free space, Iron Age goods and 50 forge points to raise it out of the mud. By each level you will increase the chance to spawn a relic and spawn a rare relic. The initial boost is 12% chance of spawning a relic, 1% chance of spawning a rare relic. Keep in mind this Great Building’s…

Forge of Empires Fair Trade Ratios

In this quick article, Forge of Empires Tips will discuss Forge of Empires Fair Trade Ratios. This article is mostly for new players, but even if you’re an experienced forge of empires player, it’s never too bad to run over the basics again.  The video version of this transcript can be found here But first, what are Fair Trade Ratios? Like in every sport, there’s so called fair play. You can also apply this to Forge of Empires, when it comes to trading goods. In this case it’s called fair trade, meaning – all players stick to same ratios when trading goods. To produce goods it takes coins and supplies. And for each age there’s a certain cost. Up till the Late Middle Ages, the cost increases twice in each age, starting from Colonial age the cost increase is smaller and smaller. For example, the cost increase from the Late Middle Age to the Colonial age is by half, but from the Future era to Arctic future the cost increases only by 0.16 times. If we over complicate trading goods, we could discuss how goods affect building size, the population required, the unrefined good required; but this would make the game too complicated. The main goal is to have fun, so other factors involving goods production besides the cost are not taken into account. When you trade goods from one age to another you simply apply these ratios. For example, if you sell 100 LMA age goods, you can buy 75 colonial age goods. Fair Trade Calculators…
